Nice Merc! Even nicer to see the box and instruction manual. I just finished posting some info on my blog about the design and marketing of the Mercury in 1937-38. If you're interested, the URL is http://oldcameras.wordpress.com .
If you're interested in using that camera, there are daylight loading cartridges out there specifically for Mercury and Corsair cameras. I don't have one, but I'm investigating the possibility of hacking a regular 35mm cartridge to make it work.
