A quick photo of my newest (so far addition side by side for comparison with a DAN 35. The Zeiss Ikonta 530/18 folder (127 film): Pardon the size but Photobucket's new resizing tool seems to have goofed as this was supposed to be forum sized.

Nice Baby Ikonta, Curt. I picked one of those up about four years ago at a camera fair. Actually I picked up two from the same stall but passed one on to a friend, a fellow collector who was with me.
Just one point, are you sure it's a 530/18? Mine's quite clearly stamped 520/18 in the leatherette. The 52x/ series went on to include the Continas, but I was under the impression that the 53x/ series were all Super Ikontas.
The little Dan 35 looks cute. I've never handled one. Am I right in thinking it used 35mm film in a backing paper? Am I also right in thinking that the same company went on to make the Pax cameras, similar in a way to the quite heavy little 35mm Halinas turned out by Haking in Hong Kong? My knowledge of the huge number of Japanese camera companies is sketchy to say the best.

Hi Peter, Right you are, after several looks from different angles with my extra eyeballs on, it's a stylised but readable 520/18 not a 530 after all. The Dan 35 was made by The Dan Camera Works in Tokyo, later to become The Yamato Koki Kogyo Co. Ltd. makers of amongst others, the Pax line of cameras. I have a Pax M4 also but the grease/epoxy they used on the focus ring has since congealed to crazy glue.
