Hello, the college photo society has decided that we will try to build a very basic camera lending library for our members. I'm looking for any metered film cameras and either rangefinders or SLRs will be fine. The cameras should at least have some degree of manual control over exposure (Aperture- / Shutter-priority or fully manual)
We are also open to purchasing unmetered cameras but this depends on whether we can purchase lightmeters as well. We are also hoping to purchase some simple lightmeters / flashmeters.
With regards to price, we hope that the individual cost of each camera should be around 50GBP or less.
UK / EU sellers are preferred.
Thank you very much.

Hi Clarence
Tell us more! What's the college? What are the aims of the society, and what do you get up to? What sort of projects do you think the cameras will be used for?
Regards - John

Hello John,
Apologies for the late reply, I have been rather busy over the past few days.
The University College London Union Photo Society aims to promote photography in the college and to assist students with their photographic needs. I'm the treasurer of the society and I also conduct lessons on photography.
About once a month we go on 'photo-walks' around London, taking photos and visiting galleries along the way. Our last trip was to Brick Lane. Most of the students in our college (myself included) aren't even from the UK, so there's plenty of enthusiasm for these walks. We also have competitions (the current one is themed 'Self') and exhibitions within the college.
What has been particularly remarkable is that a lot of members have told me that they are tired of using digital point-and-shoots and want to develop their skills using manual film cameras, but they don't know what sort of camera to get. The main aim of establishing a small camera lending library is to let them get a feel of what it's like to use a manual camera so that they can better understand concepts like shutter speed, aperture and film speed.
I hope this has been useful. Please do let me know if you'd like to know more!
Clarence
