Ron, How is that lens? I got one just a week or so ago & haven't had a chance to shoot any film with it yet since all my free time has been spent packing (except for an occasional email or eBay bid)...I did slap in on my F70 just to make sure the AF worked but that was about it...Paid $42 for it...What's your take on it & why is your son selling his? I just wanted a lens with a little bit further reach than the 70-210 offers...

Scott: Sounds like you got it for a good price. I thought it was a decent lens. My son said he didn't like it as well as his Canon glass, but then he didn't like his Nikon lenses as well as he likes his Canon.... He's getting rid of (almost) all his film equipment...going strictly digital. He's a professional photographer and all his customers are demanding it. I think it broke his heart to sell his Hasselblad, but he could not afford the digital back for it, and he needed the cash for additional equipment to do his work. He has not had a second thought at all about getting rid of his Nikon equipment. He is keeping his Sinar 4x5, along with a 35mm Mamiya NC1000 I gave him years ago.

What else is he parting with in the way of Nikon?

I had posted some stuff here a while ago...then listed it on eBay.
He had two other (Nikkor AF) lenses, an extra battery holder-grip, and a really pretty, almost mint Nikon N65. Unfortunately, it's all sold and gone except for this 75-300. I think that's the last of the stuff he left here when he moved to Florida several years ago.
