Hi, Here's a couple of pictures taken while walking around with my Olympus OM-2000 and a Tokina 28-105 zoom. This lady was kind enough to pose. She seemed in a good mood too. This gentleman didn't say a word, just struck a pose when I asked if I could take a picture. I had time for one quick shot, then he disappeared into the gathering dusk... Thanks for looking! Cheers, Michael

Recognise the guy in the second photograph. He's the second secretary at the Ministry for Funny Walks!
Great street photography Michael!
Regards - John

Michael, those are fun shots. Such character (different) in each face. Excellent work.

Great pictures, Michael. I wish I had the nerve to ask a stranger if I might take her/his picture. I feel guilty when I take a sneak shot of a stranger. I suppose that's why I shoot landscapes.

Thanks everyone! Mickey, I get my share of rejection. Oh well, I just move on if someone says no. But often they say yes, or at least they don't say no.

Nice street pictures, Michael. People are my favourite subjects except for studio portraits, I'm hopeless at those!
Don't know why but the guy in the second photo makes me think of the film The Third Man. Maybe something vaguely Austrian/ German about him. Whatever, there's loads of character in that face.
With street photos I too usually ask permission if there's time, and get very few brush-offs though occasionally after I've taken the picture someone asks why. I explain I just like taking pictures of ordinary people in ordinary surroundings. They sometimes look a bit puzzled, but they're happy enough with that.
One or two assume I'm using digital and ask to see the picture on the back of the camera. When I explain it's an old-fashioned film camera and you can't see the picture until it's developed they usually say something like "Oh. Well I never." One added "I didn't think anyone used film these days."

The gentleman in the second photo is obviously on a secret mission and is in disguise so he wont be noticed.
