Hey Guys, Just won one of these on eBay & was wondering if anyone here has one or has any expirence with it...Wanted a Nikkor 20mm but they still go for more than I'm willing to pay...So I got this for $34 +$5 shipping...I know its a Cosina made lens & it likely to flare (aren't most WA's), I guess my main concerns are sharpness & contrast...Any comments?

Scott:
No, I don't have the 19mm, but I did pick up a Vivitar 17mm, which I like very much. I've been very happy with it. If it does as well as my 17mm, you should like it very well.

Hi Scott...can't say anything about your lens. But while talking about really wide angle lenses, I'd like to ask anyone how to select a super wideangle lens. Of course price goes up precipitously as millimeter focal length goes down. I have several 24mm's. Would I be satisfied if I only went to 19mm? How are some of the zooms compared to the prime super wideangles? I live near 3000foot near vertical mtn cliffs. Would 14mm be better than 17mm, or is the rectilinear presentation on the 14mm just getting too wild for straight forward landscape scenics? Hey, what are some of the other things to watch for from these super wide angles? ;D Thanks. Grace & peace to you, Scott & all readers...litesong
