Here's a few more 110 shots for your amusement Pentax Auto 110: Early one morning, walking out to my car, spotted this pair of mating kestrels (in my neighborhood AKA Sparrow Hawks) 70mm That nite it rained creating this: 24mm as close as it will focus And this: 24mm plus S16 close-up lens A little soft and grainy The next nite it dropped below freezing: 24mm in tight again: But spring is actually here in the north end of the Sacramento Valley: 70mm at minimum focus Thanks 4 looking--comments welcome Roy

Roy, nice shots! It's amazing that such a tiny negative area can produce such nice images. Fun to use, eh?

That is pretty good going considering the format size. I always wondered where the Kestrels went when they migrate south through here. You had to post photos of spring making me just a bit envious as it really has not hit here yet.

Thanks, Curt, Gene and Bob. Curt: Old Man Winter isn't totally done with us yet. Some of the coldest weather usually hits us between now and Mid-April, but right now it is beautiful outside. Makes it hard to go to work . Gene, you're right. For sheer fun, the little Pentax beats anything else I own. The results are so good that you don't get frustrated, and you can carry the whole kit everywhere you go. One of these days, I will get hold of one of the little 1.7x teleconverters which will give me the equivalent of about a 240 in 35mm. I'm also looking for a good compact tripod. A full sized one works, but defeats the purpose. Bob: The shot of the kestrels was one that I would not have gotten with my 35's. I had a kit with me, but by the time I would have gotten it out and ready, the birds would have been gone! A long lensed 35 would have undoubtedly gotten a better shot, if I'd had time. The bright sky messed with the meter a little. My biggest caveat with the little system is the total lack of exposure control on the standard 110. This was addressed by the 110 super----some day ;D

Pentax 110 really is a tiny giant. I hope, that your nice pictures will bring the spring also here. This time of the year is the time of night frost and as we say the time of the "running gutters and dropping eaves" ;D
Btw. How do you manage with the developing of 110 film?

Thanks Reiska I have my film done at the local Wal-mart, where I am a steady customer. They do my film in house in about 2 hrs, and scan it onto a Fuji photo CD. I know all the techs personally, and they do exactly what I want, and take pride in their skills. I know, I know, I'm very lucky in that regard ;D Roy Dang! Gotta go to work!
