It's so muggy here in NE Ohio my toilet paper is wrinkled. That's why it's called crepe paper. Mickey

Not so nice weather over here. After 10 days with temperatures up to 36° C and bright sunshine, this week is rainy, partly stormy and quite cold. I am delighted, because my office has no air condition...

Hi ! Here are some impressions from todays weather over here. We have not seen the sunshine since three months. The newspapers tell that this is the coldest spring since 135 years. I am so sick of it ! What is the weather like where you live ? MIK

I'll only say that nothing is melting at this time. Mickey

As promised, Mother Nature followed thru with some wild weather today Heavy rain, snow in the mountains and tornadoes to the north of us. But the rain also brings benefits: Both taken with a Komine 135 on the 20D Technically, I guess that they were funnel clouds, since none actually touched down. Roy

Sunny, but temps only in the 40s (10C). Drops below freezing at night. Now that I have a few days off from work, it will probably rain.

Toronto record, 8 July 2013
It is kind of damp here today. Toronto received about 123mm almost 5 inches of rain today. A new record since Hurricane Hazel in 1954. No electricity. No public transportation. Many roads and almost all underpasses are resting places for waterlogged cars. All four rivers that flow through the greater Toronto area are well over their banks and their flood plains are just that. Municipal government, EMS's and all services as well as all citizens behaved admirably despite almost total gridlock. So far no fatalities reported.

Thank you Roy. There was some exceptional photographic coverage in Toronto's "National Post." It is worth a look at news.nationalpost.com/2013/07/08/heavy-rain-batters-toronto-darkens-skies-in-sudden-storm/The photos are a perfect example of Torontonians helping each other even though they are complete strangers. I guess that is a carry over from our winter blizzards. My house is at the very north end of east central Toronto and 1/8 of a mile from a branch of the Don River.. Although I thought during the height of the storm it might be washed away and I would have to use my double bass as a canoe, there was no damage at all. It is on relatively high ground and has always been very dry. Revised total rainfall. 126mm. So far no fatalities or serious injuries have been reported. Over 300,000 homes have lost power including mine. I was without electricity from 6:15pm to 11:55pm. Fortunately I have emergency supplies and an emergency wind up/solar/dry cell radio. It is all over except for the massive clean up and restoration or replacement of damaged structures. And, naturally the inevitable post mortems. Mickey

You wouldn't have fun with that ( sleeping on the terrace ) in Tokyo at the moment. 32 C even at night ( feels like 37 ). There is just the air-condition saving all our lives at the moment.
