I grew up on the south western plains of New South Wales, Australia, harsh and inhospitable and constantly in drought. Life is never taken for granted there, and as climate change has taken over, life is a great deal tougher. My earliest memories were droving cattle and sheep across the Hay plains with my Grandfather, with the wind howling at our feet, he always said "just get used to it Son, there's nothin you can do about it!" and I guess that is what has made me strong through adversity in my later life, I really miss him, he was the toughest, roughest but kindest man I ever knew! I now live in Tasmania, which is a whole lot better, but eventually facing the same problems of climate change. I feel relaxed and at home here, every day I drive the 20 kilometres to work and back, and every day nature excites me by trying to do one better on yesterday! Home is truly where the heart is!
Look after your home!
