This is Ernie, our Lab-mix "puppy". She was left with us when our son went off to college and couldn't take her. Kiev-88 & 80mm f/2.8 Arsat lens. Shamrock is a Catahoula Leopard Hound, the state dog of Louisiana. She's a Hurrican Katrina survivor and was adopted by our son and his family. Whippet owners were amazed that she could run with their dogs effortlessly. Pentax *ist-DS & 55mm f/1.8 Super-Takumar lens. This is my friend Pebbles from across the street. She's a very sweet dog. Olympus OM-1 & 135mm f/3.5 Zuiko lens on Agfa APX-100 film. Walker

Roxanne: 125 lbs of loving Rottweiller, and the reason I don't worry about Mo when I have to work late! Fujica ST-605 85-205 Vivitar@205mm 400 Superia She's very camera shy for some reason--can only get her with a long lens! Roy

Craig, the folded ear makes the picture. I'd also like to see Gizmo's face! Wayne, Debbie is the dog that grabs me the most of all of these admirable creatures. She is very soulful looking, standing on guard. Walker, that's a beautifully done profile of Ernie. My wife says that Shamrock seems related to the Jack Russell Terrier breed. She had one as a child, named Bridget. And Pebbles is a perfect example of a Basset Hound. Roy, one of the doctors at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco, had a pair of Rottweillers to protect his family. They are known for loyalty and wide jaws! Great pictures, thanks for posting. The rest of you, let's see yours! I know you're out there Michael

Dave: Bill reminds me of Candee, the border collie who was a member of our family for 13 years. Our daughters considered her a sister. We have never had another dog her equal. Reclaimed from the animal shelter. Candee in later years

Wayne, I especially like number three of Candee. She is showing some great qualities there. They make a great set of photos. We had a Candy dog when I was growing up. She used to come in trailing sticks in her pantaloons, after running around the creek and woods. She was 42 varieties, probably had some Collie in there somewhere. -- Here's a neighborhood dog I saw waiting patiently. I nipped over and took a quick picture.

As a part of my Velvia crusade (You made me starting, Thommy ;-) ) here I got two shots of Zorro (mix between Bernese and Appenzeller Mountain Dog). The first one was made in weak front light, which is about sure not to fail (except for being boring maybe...): While the next one tended more towards backlight (it is not even complete backlight): I had to tweak this in PS to bring out the shadow detail, while the first image is straight out of the scanner. Both were taken with a MC Tele Rokkor 2.8/135, a sharp and contrasty lens. Aperture looks like it was something between 2.8 and 4. Best regards Peter

Big time dog lover that I am, I think all these photos are great. Cute as a button, makes me wish they all lived at my house.
