Ah, you have me there - I never ever collect SLRs, only rangefinders...................
But then a Topcon surfaced and I think - must have one of those, its such a milestone camera and the shop has priced (and labelled it) as a Topcon UNI, so
Topcon RE Super
Then I think - it would be interesting to have the earlier model - less trend setting, but it was my first SLR and holds memories:
Topcon R
Then along comes the Reflex that takes the same lenses as my favourite rangefinder - the Retina lllC
Retina Reflex
Then of course the newer Reflex partners to my Retina lllS - I have the lenses, so why not the cameras?
Retina Reflex S Retina Reflex lll
and then the last of the line shows up:
Retina Reflex IV
and just to complete the set (it takes the same lenses after all!)
The Instamatic Reflex
Of course I can't count my everyday SLRs, can I?
3 Nikon FE2s ( I had to photograph my nieces wedding and had three prime lenses see ...... No really, I do regard Zoom lenses and autofocusing as the work of the devil )
Oh yes - the two Nikon FAs my wife is always asking about "Why are they still here?" I bought these by mistake and need to sell them - I thought they were a step up from my old FE, but realised I didn't like the meter display - I also thought they were a bit "inelegant"/cheap looking compared to the FE2s.
So in answer to your question - No, I don't have a collection of SLRs - those that I have are purely there for "research purposes" (Thats what the Japanese say when they hunt Wales don't they?)
Now if you had asked me about my rangefinder collection .............................

Well, Bob -- Curt -- with his 884 cameras -- has certainly tangled with a more virulent form of the disease than I've struggled with!
My wife tolerates my collection (and collecting), but if I already had 800+ cameras, her tolerance might be wearing a wee bit thin! ;D

It was a bad month for the flare-up in my collectivitus! I've added a Kodak Retina 1-a, a Mercury II CX, a Mamiya 35-S and another Mamiya Metra to the collection in September! I keep hearing that voice saying Come to the Dark Side, Luke! every time I log-on to eBay! ;D

I can't compare with this at all. At my peak I had less than 100 cameras and then I gave away about 20 of them to the local thrift store. I did keep all my prime Nikon F's (No F6 unfortunately), a few Pentaxes , Mamiyas, Miranda Auto Sensorex EE (sentimental value - the first SLR camera I gave my wife), Yashica (but gave away 2 Yashicamat 124's) kept the Mamiya C33, Rolleiflex and Rolleicord (not SLR's of course), and kept the Hasselblad. I have several rangefinders but the only ones worth mentioning are a couple of Zeiss Ikons and a Voigtlander (and 2 Minox's). (plus 3 Argus c3's and a C44 - go figure). At this point I have a deal with my wife -If I want another camera then one has to go. (which is why a couple of Nikons are due for dispersal. Of course it doesn't count my wife's 4 cameras and my daughter's Nikons (currently all in Japan). Just the daughter not the wife Phil Victoria (the one in BC Canada)
