Housebound due to a cold. Stir crazy. Pentax K100D, Tamron Adaptall 80 to 210mm Snow is not always white. Crabapples. They are about 1-1/2 cm in diameter. They are frozen solid. With a thaw they will start to ferment. Then the birds and squirrels and raccoons will strip the tree in a drunken frenzy. Mickey

My sympathy, you guys down east seem to catching more snow more often than we in the north these days. It tried here a few days ago but did not really succeed to well. Bob

Roy,
I like the Tamron. It is a manual focus. It is neither too heavy nor too long. It cost me $25 at a camera fair. It has become my favourite lens which I use more than the 18 to 55mm kit lens and the Pentax DA 12 to 24mm arm and a leg lens. It is great for flower and other close ups. And with my newly acquired Raynox 250 supplementary close up lens attached it is really something. Trouble is all the bugs are in hiding now. I am waiting for the snow worms to appear.
I am still learning the features of my Pentax K100D and find I prefer the results I get when I revert back to manually setting either the aperture or shutter speed. I let the camera set the one I don't, thus giving me proper exposure and the control I desire.
"S-u-u-u-r-r-e Mickey! Blame the critters! ;D". It is not like me too let a possible food source go untested. I tried them. The critters are welcome to the nasty little things.
