Bob,
"Mickey, I hope you are surviving the storm down your way." I can hardly get into much trouble as I can't get out of my driveway thanks to the windrow put there by the road clearing snowplough. We got about 20 cm here with lots of drifting. But I am snug and content. Bears have the right idea.
Your pictures of those beautiful houses are splendid. It is interesting how the different light sources tint the snow and the other illuminated surfaces.

Nice lights! Notice there's a bit of snow. We just had about a foot ourselves! Mickey ... where's your avatar?

Ron,
I am SO glad you asked.
Being the computer klutz that I am I managed to erase it when I transferred my files from my eMac to my lovely new iMac. That transfer ( Apple pompously calls it "migration" ) was something that Apple, after a little over eight hours on the phone with four their experts over three days, told me couldn't be done as the old eMac files are no longer "supported" by them.
But try as I might I can't figure out how to reinstate my avatar or put in a new one.
Way back in 2005, shortly after I became a member someone told me how to do it. I forget who and I forget how.
Gulp! That was me swallowing my pride. With cap in hand and head bowed I once again must plead for assistance.

Mickey - I assume you had the original photo hosted somewhere, in the appropriate size, like on Flickr or Photobucket, or one of those. You just link to it in your forum profile. Actually, it's more like listing it's location in the box they provide for your avatar. Not sure that helps a whole bunch. And why are you up at 3 in the morning?

It is sitting in Photobucket refusing to be budged. And why are you up at 3 in the morning? As a diabetic I am privileged to visit the pissoir several times a night. Then on to the computer until my eyes start to close.

Mickey - Log into your Profile. Then "Modify Profile" -- careful in there, don't delete anything! In the box for your avatar, you need to add the www.etc location of your avatar picture, right down to the " /jpg" Be sure to add the size, mine is 80x80 ... not sure what the max allowed is....... Click on Save Does that help? --- BTW - I need to visit the facility at least once a night, sometimes twice ... but it's all I can do to stay awake until I get back in bed!

My neighbor running up his electric bill! A shorter exposure would have darkened the sky and left more color in the lights. I was guessing exposure as I was using an old Ricoh Singlex with Nikon F mount and its original 55/1.4 Rikenon. This is Kodak Max 400, f-5.6 at about 20 seconds. Merry Christmas all! Bill and Liz

Yea, his meter must just be spinning. I can't imagine Christmas without snow but I am up for that experience someday.

Snoring is a common reason for nightly outings. If your mate makes similar outings you know you're keeping her/him awake too.
