I'll second that opinion on the Canon P. I won't even hazard a guess at what you were thinking.

If you have been to Timmins in the winter (manufacturers testing cars for winter conditions?) then you have an idea of what it can be like in Thunder Bay in winter. As with cars, those temperature extremes will quickly show any faults with a camera.

Being a N.H. resident...I would agree with ebolton. Many SLR's will have trouble in our coldest winter temps. Bob, Some of the digitals do funny things in really cold weather too. Mainly, they really slow down. The batteries expire quickly. I keep a spare battery in a pocket next to my body and switch them back and forth when they seemingly die. The worst trouble I've had in cold weather though is with the leaf shutters in compact rangefinders. I would guess the lubricants they used on them go thick and sluggish in the cold. I've had a Canonet QL-17 that worked perfectly in the summer give me about a 3-sec exposure when set to 1/500 in the winter :-) Gene

Hi folks, No question at least 2 of my 3 ME Supers needs CLA. I keep hoping my son will buy something digital and give me back my 1 reliable sample. Then I can forget about the 2 dodgy ones and have 1 to use. Soon I may bite the bullet and send one of those 2 in.
