There have been a few threads here discussing instant film cameras but I think you may be the only member with enough of 'em to be considered a collector. I have an early folding Polaroid I keep under our bed to be used for self defense if anyone breaks into the house. One swat in the side of the head with the 'roid and they wouldn't be getting up any time soon.

I have 12 Polaroids but I only ever bought one, the 110A Pathfinder which is a splendid camera.
The others have been given to me or been included with some other camera that I bought.
I am not belittling Polaroids they just have never moved me to admiration or curiosity.
On the other hand I have over 90 Kodaks, mostly folders of which I am quite fond.
Others? Oh yes. From 8mm to 8"x10".
I also like to collect what to me are unusual or peculiar cameras. Nothing very expensive but always fascinating.

"It's more than a camera, it's almost alive"! I had 'Roids, 126s, 8mm and Super 8, all given to me. One day I decided that wasn't what I was interested in. I disposed of all and have concentrated on Japanese 35 SLRs since. That's a heck of a collection you have, Bullseye. Do you have any of the Agfa "Rapid" easy load cameras?

'roids? Must be an American thing. Haemmor..... maybe?
While I'm prattling about language, what on earth is GAS?
I realise it is some kind of acronym but simply cannot work out what it means (It took me several weeks to work out LOL) LOL.
It appears likely I may well be the only internet user who doesn't know.
My education is sorely lacking.

GAS= Gear Acquisition Syndrome P.S. I have a few instant cameras too, none I've really sought out, they just find me. Polaroids, about 35: 4 SX70's, batch of folders, 2 Spectra, etc. as well as a Fuji Instax and 2 or 3 Kodaks. Only ever use the Spectra these days as I still have a few films for it.

Under "Other Formats" you can discuss them at "Plastic Fantastic".

Somewhere packed away I've got a couple of big old folding Polaroid Land cameras. Don't know if they're fantastic, but plastic they certainly ain't. They're honest to goodness metal. There's also a later plastic body one that opens up a bit like an eyelid. It's not the reflex model but I can't remember which one it is.
One day I might dig them out, see if the a shutters work and offer them to a Polaroid collector here or put them on ebay. Main drawback would be postage because of the weight. I had a couple of Swingers, but after seeing the results from one I gave them away.

I think McKeown's lists swingers as "$5 a truckload, delivered."

I got myself a 'new' Kodak instant camera today. It's a Trimprint 940, but not a regular one. This one is made of clear plastic so you can see the inner workings. I previously had a Pentax auto 110 slr in clear. I was wondering how many models of cameras were made like this and how rare they are. Also what are they called. I searched Google for clear cameras and demonstrators and got only one hit, a couple of Kodak instants were auctioned off in 2010 for over $1500.11

Because it is transparent it can not take a picture but it is interesting to watch the mechanism in operation. Mickey
