Hi ! Here is a new entrant to the Bakelite-section of my collection: A Sawyers Nomad 127 from 1957. Does anybody know, if this camera was built by Sawyers in Oregon ? Was this a common camera in the US back then ? The one I bought, was the first I saw here, seems that this model was not sold in Europe. I noticed that the View Master Personal Stereo Camera from the 50s has been made by Stereocraft Engeneering (USA?) and the View Master Color (Mark II) from the 60s has been made by King Regula in Germany. Mc Keown mentions another Sawyers camera: A TLR called “Mark IV”. ( never seen this one ). The View Master Reel Viewers ( I got a few ) are manufactured all around the world: USA, GB, Belgium, France and the later models in Mexico. I like the View Master stuff, looking through them will bring back my childhood. MIK

Hi MIK, While I have a Sawyers Nomad myself, I'm not actually sure if they ever made any cameras themselves or just rebadged other makers cameras. The Mark IV you mentioned is actually made by Topcon (Tokyo Kogaku) as the Topcon Primo Jr. and Jr.II . The Nomad was fairly common as many are still on eBay every day here. Hope this helps.
