It has been so hot here that the only time to go walking is very early morning. Here are a couple of flower shots taken very early Wednesday morning: Roy

Roy, the only time to go walking here the last few days is when the rain has stopped! It's not cold but temperatures are a little more moderate than yours: I'm not sure whether that is good or bad.
The fly on the sunflower appears to have a leg and a half missing, unless they are hidden in the petals. France has whole fields full of sunflowers, all with their heads following the sun. There is, though, the occasional rebel which decides not to comply.
Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.
p.s. are you up yet? It must be early morning by now!
Dave.

Daveh and Mickey Thanks for looking, and for the nice comments. I hadn't noticed the missing body parts 'til you mentioned them. You're right! No, Dave, I wasn't up yet when you posted ;D Today is my late day at work, so I slept in! Cheers, Roy

I think that fly's leg is all there. It seems to be in a position such that the lower portion is vertical but one can still see the little round pad at its bottom. So I guess we can forget about the prosthesis.

The fly gives added life to the photo, nice shots Roy.
Sun flower is cultivated extensively in our region, i. e. The Tarn & Garonne region, in summer, we have whole hillside full of them, an impressive sight.

Go to France the "wrong time of year" and all you see is sunflowers in some fields!

Dave, if you are around Mossiac, apart from their famous grapes, some of the hills behind are covered with sunflowers.
Just about 1km from my village, the sunflower stalks are growing in the fields.
