Hi all,
Been sorting through some old black & white negs. Thought you might like to see some that I haven't posted before. The first was taken on Ilford FP3 and the others on Ilford FP4. All developed in ID11, the only B&W developer I used for years. Sorry to have to put a watermark on them. I've had one too many pictures pirated off Photobucket. Hope it doesn't detract.
They're similar in that they all feature people as the main interest. For me, people are the most fascinating subjects possible.
These were all taken in the 1950s, 60s or 70s. Hope you enjoy them. Please critique to your hearts' content.
Guess your weight man. Taken at Dreamland Amusement Park in Margate using a borrowed Diax, 1956.
Shoving off 1979. Taken somewhere along the south coast, probably in Hampshire. All the south coast harbours are full of weekend sailors every summer. They're the descendants of those who, despite air attack, formed the famous "flotilla of small ships" that ferried thousands of soldiers off the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940 to the larger Royal Navy and Merchant Navy ships waiting offshore.
Street gossip 1979. Taken at Lymington in Hampshire. These guys were so absorbed I had time to take a meter reading and walk round to compose the shot. This was the first picture taken with a 1934 Robot camera with Xenon lens I restored from non-working.
An eight year old John helping me paint the house. The wheel's gone full circle since then. Now I help him.
Another picture of an eight year old John taken at Biggin Hill Air Show. He was oblivious to everything as he walked along playing the bamboo flute he won on a stall.
A couple give their Sunbeam Alpine a final polish before the concours judges come round at a classic car show in the 1970s.
