Hi All ! In my quest for cheap, high quality, point & shoots, I came across this one for my collection. It's in very nice condition (aside from a couple of scratches), and was in the original box, had the case, and instruction booklet. The whole thing only cost me 5 USD. It takes a CR2 battery, a couple of which I still have. This is turning into quite a collection. Not too many people collect point & shoots yet; I'm sure having fun with them Doug

I did say previously that yesterday's ordinary becomes tomorrow's collectible. It has always been so and always will be. Some will just be more collectible than others.
By the way it looks as though you need to get your sandpaper and stain/varnish out for the background.
Nice looking camera., the sort I might have had as second backup before digital came along and spoiled it all.

Hi guys! MIK,I'm not sure, but I think it's from the late 90's. I'll ask Darth,he's my father There's not much information on point & shoots out there. Dave, The desk is ca.120 years old. It belonged to my mother in law, a very nice lady, she gave it to me. It had been covered in three or four layers of paint and sat in a barn for a long, long time. I did it maybe ten years ago. I'll post a photo of it later when I get some time. Gotta go Doug

I have a box of point 'n shoots I couldn't pass up over the years too. Like you said, not much info out there but a cheap and fun alternative to collect.

Hey, I have one of those. They do what they want regarding exposure and focus, and they choose their own sweet moment to release shutter after you press the button. A bit annoying. But it's a fair deal, if you hold it steady you'll get every picture. Glad to see someone collecting these! A picture from mine:

Julio, That's a great photo, I love the colors! Nice and sharp too. They did make a remote shutter release for these. I'll start looking for one, and try it on the tripod as well as hand-held. I've been finding quite a few point & shoots like this lately, some of which sold for 300+USD when new. I'm glad not so many people are collecting these yet Doug

Julio, love the photo. Whoever painted the building has an eye for colour.

Julio, your photo makes me even more certain that I must get to South America on holiday again.

I bought a Stylus 170 last year in a thrift shop. I bought it because it was weather resistant and cheap. It had too much zoom for such a small camera, so the aperture was something like f12. On the shorter focal lengths, it was very good. My uncle also had a 170 that wasn't working so I gave mine to him. I would buy another Stylus but with a shorter zoom.
