Hi All! I found this today in a bag stuffed in the corner of my favorite thrift store. I asked them how much they wanted for it and was told 7.50 USD. I said "sold!" and here, the back.... This camera is an SLR although it looks like a point & shoot! It feels good in my hands and has just the right lens to suit 90% of my photo needs. I can't wait to get it out and start shooting!! Doug

I never did get into film hybrid cameras. Once digital came in the zoom range just went on getting bigger and bigger.

I recently found its older sibling, the IS-3dlx. It is very similar, except mine is black with 35-180mm lens. The seller at the flea market appologized for not having a proper cable to connect it to a computer. But I figured for only $5, I could chance it. When I opened the back at home, I found someone had put a finger through the shutter curtain. I was able to carefully untangle the blades but they still didn't lay completely flat. I was plesently surprised when the first roll of film came back perfectly exposed and in focus. I think I will be using it a lot more now.

Nice! Reminds be a bit of my wife's Chinon Genesis IV.

I have heard good things about those cameras and I believe IIRC they were called ZLRs in their day to differentiate them from SLRs. Oly always made good stuff.

Sometimes they were also called "bridge cameras" in reference to bridging the gap between P&S and SLR. Compared to an SLR, about the only thing you can't do is remove the lens. I have Aperture or Shutter priority, Manual exposure, various Program settings, manual focus, etc. And the ergonomics are way better than the infinity SuperZoom 330.
