The dedication and unveiling of the Freedom Eagle took place yesterday, 11/11/2011 at 1100 hrs local time. Months of hard work by many volunteers, and thousands of dollars of donated money culminated in this terrific addition to the Chico Air Museum. We are very proud of the fact that NO taxpayer money was spent on the project. The restoration is continuing, still under the gimlet eye of CMSgt Ret'd Don Campbell. Roy,
Superb, a great moment for you all there. I bet there's one or two in the crowd with interesting stories about the plane.
On a different tack, the slideshow doesn't seem to be running correctly. It is mostly just alternating between the shot of Dino Corbin near the nose and the general shot of those attending. It could be just something my end causing it, so I'll go back later and recheck.
(Edit: some others are coming up now, but still not showing the full set.)
I presume the 11/11/11/11 was chosen deliberately. Was it also 11 seconds past the hour? (I did comment at that very time about the number of 11s - though our 11 time would have been a few hours ahead of yours - not 11 hours though!)
Dave.

Hi Dave: Thanks for looking! The slideshow seems to be working OK here. Perhaps something has taken a bite out of the undersea cable and is allowing bytes to escape? ;D Roy

Excellent shots Roy. Those 202s seem to be able to please.

The slideshow is coming through okay now (at least it is if I send it in reverse, but forwards it is still playing up - work that out! Actually I think it might be because I'm on the limits of the wireless network. At times the signal strength is low.)
"Thanks for looking"? Looking at you photos is a pleasure, Roy, (just as it is looking at everyone else's).
Dave.

Thanks for the pictures, Roy.
It looks like that was a very proud and happy audience.

Everyone in attendance seemed to be enjoying themselves. Especially gratifying to me was the number of children that came with their parents. If we can reach the young people with the messages of history, our mission is accomplished.
This was the first time I had ever used two identical camera bodies in a shoot. Switching cameras is certainly more convenient than constantly changing lenses! Now I see why it's done! The pair of Minoltas performed flawlessly. I'll be using that set-up again!
