Hi All! I was surfing the web, and came across a Camedia digital camera with a built in printer. It's very cheap, but uses Polaroid 500 size film to make its' prints. Polaroid doesn't produce film any longer, although I've read on one site that they might start production again. I know that Fuji produces instant film, and was wondering if anyone knows which of it's films, if any, might be compatable. Just curious. Doug

I don't think they are interchangeable but don't take my word for it. I'm basing that on one enquiry a few years back.

I am not able to answer your question ... but one thing makes me wonder: Didn't you say, it's a digital camera ? A digital camera is using Polaroid film ? That doesn't make sense to me somehow There are a few tiny portable printers available for getting instant prints out of digital cameras. That might be an alternative to the classic Polaroid cameras but Polaroid film is ... film. So it needs to be exposed. How can the digital camera do that ? Just wondering ...

Berndt, From what I understand, it's a digital camera, with a card of some sort (I don't remember which), and attached is a printer, using Polaroid film, with which to print out a hard copy on the spot. Obviously, they didn't sell many of these. However, since I've begun collecting old digitals as well as film cameras, I thought that it might make a nice addition to my collection. I've also been looking for a Canon Xapshot or original Mavica, go figure Doug

Camedia is an Olympus name, so I'm guessing XD cards fit in it.

I seem to remember a camcorder about ten years back years back that had an integral printer in it. I tried to look for it via such as google , but didn't instantly find it and got no further. I might have another look. I've just had another look but can't find it. I presume it was inkjet rather than polaroid. I can only assume it didn't sell: one of those nice ideas that no one really wanted to buy.
