Folks,
In the main I have been using Imageshack for uploading and sharing photos. The free version used to have unlimited storage in terms of numbers, but it had a limitation on file size. They are about to change this to a limit of 500, so I shall lose the earliest 250 or thereabouts.
I need to find another storage place.
I do have a Pro-flickr account, but that is for rugby club photos. I don't really want to use that as the different groups of photos will get mixed up. Neither do I really want to spend out another £20 or so a year for another paid for account.
So, here is the question: are any of you using a free storage site, and if so what is it like?
Dave.

I use Dropbox (but not for photos yet) and Photobucket. Early on I was using Webshots. I've never paid for a storage site yet. These work for what I do.

Thanks for the replies. I might sign up to several to see what is in the end the best (for me anyway). At the moment I've signed up to photobucket and am trying to transfer some of the photos from imageshack. I need to 'lose' about another 1300 from imageshack to avoid them being removed from access. Geoff, I was looking for sensible answers - but yours made me laugh.

Dave, flickr will let you organize your images into sets and collections, in addition to having a photostream. So "rugby" could be a set with only rugby pictures in it.
I also make a set every month, such as "12Aug" for this month, so I can effciently search in time as well.
And there is a search function if you have a system for naming your shots.

I am using just Flickr and lomography.com for analog stuff yet. It's okay for me, as I don't take thousands of picture, worth being published ... even I would wish so ... hahaha ...
The question is also, with whom do I need to share what. For private shots, I use Facebook, but I don't have so many pictures of "common interest".

I have Flicker but don't use it much after one of the members on the Sony group started making obscene comments about my pictures. Anyway he banned me from the group when I said I would report his conduct.

I use Photobucket. I am not thrilled with it but am reasonably content. Two improvements I would like to see are: 1. Drag and drop uploading or anything that is faster and consistent. Their system can be agonizingly slow and erratic at times. 2. A method of removing duplicate uploads without having to scroll through everything ever uploaded.

I'm a Flickr & Flickriver user. All it takes is a yahoo account. For 25 buck$ you can host images as big as their scanned.

I have a paid account at Flickr (that I can't seem to link to) as well as an account (that won't let me in) with Photobucket. Have a few thousand pictures on Flickr, about half are camera equipment shots.
