Of course this was the eBay transaction that there were problems with! But everything worked out and the Medalist and all of the accessories finally arrived. The shutter blades closing are a bit erratic so I am going to keep working it to see if that fixes it, if not I will have to find someone to give it a good CLA. The (N)ever ready case: The Accessory Back, for sheet film, film packs and plates. Also one of the Kodak film packs with two negatives of Kodak Super-XX film left. And the instruction manual. To me the most amazing thing about it is the registration card is still attached! Also included was one of the Heiland Research Corporation's flash units like this one on Flickr. www.flickr.com/photos/48637143@N03/6074460344/The way the tube attaches to the base is not the same as the one pictured but the base is definitely for a Medalist as there are two pins that position the camera in place. Also included were numerous filters and adapters, some for the camera and some not, and 4 of the old style dial calculators. 1) Kodak Outdoor Exposure Guide 2) Flash Kodaguide 3) Snapshot Kodaguide 4) Kalart Synchro_Sunlight guide Of course all of the guides are for film no longer available but still a nice addition to my collection.

Hi Larry
Moved your thread to this section, per your request. Although the section is entitled "SLR" it also encompasses medium format rangefinders.
Great looking camera, too! Looking forward to some pictures from it if you are so minded!

Congratulations Larry.
You appear to have a complete Medalist 1 kit.
If you need any more cut film holders I have a bunch of them in black as well as that sand colour, many more than I would ever need.
I can send some to you, gratis if you wish.

I posted my Medalist rant under "Show Us" because I did not know where to put it. Not the best location.
I don't think SLR is the best spot though.
How about Range Finder Cameras?
Perhaps both postings could be moved there.

The "Medium and Other Formats-(620/120 roll film cameras) :: SLRs" category's full description reads, I hunted around and couldn't find anywhere else it fit. Perhaps we need a new category? Roy

Olroy,
You were right. I did not read the entire heading. What if it read only MEDIUM FORMAT & Other Formats? Then guys like me wouldn't be out to lunch so often. Now how do I move my Medalist stuff here?

It is looking more like I will have to have a CLA done but I am anxious to start taking picture with it.

Mickey Mickey, Thank you for your kind and generous offer. As soon as things settle down on my end, we are getting ready to start a major renovation project at our house, I will be in touch. Larry

"we are getting ready to start a major renovation project at our house, " Larry, My deepest sympathy. You are about to enjoy dust as you never have before. Right now your cameras' best friends would be Zip Loc bags. Mickey

Mickey,
I know and have been preparing for this for awhile. I have been bringing home from work large Zip Loc style bags that we get equipment in and usually then just throw away. Each bag is big enough to fit my Nikon F, with the Photomic Finder and a Vivitar 70-210mm Macro/Zoom lens. So in the bags, then into plastic boxes with snap lids then into a closet in a room that is not having work done to it. Once the door closes I will seal it with Duct tape and hope for the best!

Excellent kit!
I had a Medalist (II) for a while. I spent a long time, carefully looking for one in good condition. It probably took two months to find the one that I wanted.
Then after receiving it, I serviced it, loaded it with film and ended up not liking it at a shooter. However, your experience probably will be different.
By the way, are you a member of the Silver Eye (down on the South Side)? If not, you should join.
And you should get the camera ready for 620 Day -- which is June 20 (6/20). That's when all of us 620 fans find a camera and shoot a roll.
Last year, I took a bunch of shots in Downtown Pittsburgh. Still need to process the film. Got insanely busy with work.
