Now come ON Wayne,
You can't throw in a minor aside such as "I shot rodeo for several years using a Rollei." Our viewers need proof!
Come on - post a few of those - and some of you running like hell - if you have any!!!

Missed your challenge, John. I'll check my files tonight. If I have something it probably will be 35mm, however as the Rollei film remained the property of the newspaper. I know I have a bull riding shot somewhere.

Just noticed your motto
"Sometimes the magic works......" How true!
You try, you do your best, and what do you get?
Regards - John

Comes from the Movie "Little Big Man." The old Indian Chief decides it's time to join his ancestors. He climbs up on a hill and lies down on a burial scaffold dressed in his finery. He lays there with his eyes closed, waiting for death. Then a big rain drop hits him in the face, making him flinch. Then another and another. Pretty soon it's pouring. Finally the chief gets up, soaking wet and says "Sometimes the Magic Works and sometimes it doesn't." Then he trudges down the hill and back to camp.

John: I never shot rodeo, but I have done some photojournalistic work (a few examples were posted here) and some weddings (none of which I have the negatives for, since I shot them for a studio). I used to draw (and publish) cartoons at one time, too, but I have none of the published ones. Don't even know where the actual art went after the publisher got it. So, I guess I can vouch it's entirely possible not to have evidence!

Sorry I came to this thread so late - - it is hard to keep up with m forum reading when I travel on business...
MF is my main format, and my "reach for" camera is either a Mamiya C220 or a C3, which I use with the 65, 80, and 180 mm lenses. I use them in my sleep and for many types of photography - - I even covered baskeball and baseball games with them when I was working for our college daily many years ago. I would not suggest that they are ideally suited for every situation, but they work... and work... and work. Prior to the Mamiyas, I had Minolta Autocords, which I used extensively while working as project photographer for an archaeological project in South America. I highly recommend them both.
