Col,
"Yes Coffee will develop films. And I do use Caffenol C. The results can be very flat but scan very well.."
Perhaps caffeine would increase the contrast.

Hi Mickey finding instant coffee with enough caffeine is the problem .. most of the stuff sold in the supermarkets just dosn't work.. the only one I have results form, was some really nasty coffee from the local Two Buck shop, I think it was made in Vietnam. Also any film processed in coffee has a very high cast/fog level so plenty of time must be spent using paintshop/photoshop ... but it's fun!!!!

There is no point in coffee without caffeine, I can never understand this caffeine-free kick that some are on. p.s. I prefer tea.

I find tea is the most foul tasting drink even the smell turns my stomach.. I'm sure wombat urine would taste far better.
p.s I prefer coffee

Well, it looks like a war has begun between the leaves and the beans.
Excuse me. I think the phone is ringing.
Play nice kids.

The problem for both tea and coffee is that they have to be made properly. Tea is probably the more difficult of the two. What most people pass off as tea is barely drinkable.

You would love my coffee. It is my version of Turkish coffee. As I am diabetic it is sugar free - artificial sweetener is the sad replacement. Two cups of water. Two heaping tablespoons of Turkish grind coffee. One heaping tablespoon of - yuk - sweetener. Nuke for 4-3/4 minutes. Voila! Pathetic. Take it neat. But I tell myself it is good. I don't believe me but something is better than nothing. Mickey

I don't take sugar in either tea or coffee. Water for tea needs to be just on the boil for a few seconds. For coffee boiling water is too hot, by several degrees, releasing as it does the bitter taste that makes using sugar almost a necessity.
