Mickey, I've pondered the salmon situation. Some rivers have been 'dead' for years - well past the salmon life span it would seem. Salmon return to where they grew up to spawn Yet, when the rivers are cleaned up, salmon return. I think I need to look at some of the article on this - there must be a logical answer - is it that they have been artificially introduced, or where the rivers not quite as dead as we thought? Dave, They were artificially introduced. As I understand it they were hatched in fish hatcheries and put into the rivers. I always thought they returned to the river where they were hatched but, perhaps, they are imprinted some time after hatching. Perhaps their little built in GPS's don't start right away. Next time I have some sushi I'll ask it. Mickey

Mickey, perhaps as you say it's after they are born - perhaps, like pigeons, they need a couple of weeks or so.

I use coffee as it was intended - as a spice. A bit of it in barbeque sauce is great. Can't stand to drink it. I like green tea, but don't usually take the trouble to brew it properly.
You can get green tea in tea bags, which isn't nearly as good, but isn't bad.

Thank you 33dollars. I am promoting you immediately to 66dollars. I am going to be trying this gourmet brew on paper negatives to be exposed in my 8x0 and 5x7 and 4x5 view and press cameras. I should be able to put them through my computer, reverse them and arrive at something acceptable. Film may come later. May I call them Espresso Expressions? Mickey

I have never tasted an instant coffee that I like. This process may expose it for its true worth and give us an invaluable photographic tool.
I can hardly wait to go to my neighbourhood Starbucks to order their strongest brew, filtered twice and a croissant on the side.
This reminds me of when I used my mother's vinegar as a stop bath. It always aroused a desire for fish and chips.

My mother always said instant coffee was a nice drink so long as you reminded yourself it was not coffee.

The secret to instant coffee is the water. Just have the correct water like your having a pot of tea. Also, you could try the water of Lake Ontario. articles.latimes.com/1990-11-13/news/wr-4533_1_lake-ontario I'm yet to see any of these images that have been developed in the Lake. But would like to. I remember seeing images of a photographer fixing glass plates in the Southern Ocean off Antarctica for its exploration.

Enjoyed those comments. This new forum design has a Facebook-like "Like-Button" now ... did you notice that ? Typing these lines, I am drinking a cup of instant coffee. I use to drink caffein free instant coffee in the evening, because I can't sleep all night if it would be real one.
