I took this with a Fujica ST-605 using a 300mm lens at full zoom, hand held without a tripod from a pier off Barcelona New York. I had a really difficult time holding the camera still so I could get the shot.

It looks a fair way inland - but presumably not as far as it looks as you ook the photo from the pier.

The dock & pier are out on the lakefront a ways. The lighthouse has a house attached, and the only way to get the lighthouse without the house is to go for the shot I took. Here's a link to the lighthouse: www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=293

Thanks. That is a fascinating history including as it does how the lighthouse was constructed, how the natural gas was tamed and utilized and the arrangements with the various personnel connected with the enterprise.
