More work in progress. I will see what it looks like as more of a panorama shot. However what first attracted me to it was the calm water with the rowers cutting through the lake. I had wanted to show the context in the first shot. However being B&W perhaps I should focus on the rowers more. Good thought.
The shack shot was taken last summer in the little border town of Osoyoos just north of Oroville in Washington State. (Not too far from my "bridge jumping" picture.) The surrrounding orchards have these shacks on them that I presume get used seasonally by the pickers as they migrate up from Mexico with the season changes. The wood on the shack is very washed out to the point of almost no color so it lended itself to a B&W shot. I took it in August probably about 6 AM with the sun coming from behind and slightly to my right as I faced the picture. I wanted to get some texture to the wood. In the original there is a bit of foreground with more wood and junk but it was in shade and very dark. There may have been a pale yellow filter used but I do't remember as I shot "with and without". I cropped the picture for the displayed image as I couldn't get enough detail from my wretched scanner! I did a bit of "levels adjustment but that was it. Phil
