I haven't been able to find any affordable Ihagee cameras lately so I have had to resort to Zeiss Ikon. This is a Contina and I think a IIa although it would help if Zeiss Ikon had labelled the cameras better. For Hans: Bestellnummer: 527/24 Body Number: R -7959 (definitely only four digits with a large space between the R and 7) Lens is Novicar 1:2.8 45mm - no number Shutter is Prontor-SVS, no number The camera is astonishingly well made and solid. Alas, someone has attempted to get inside the gummings and the frame counter mechanism is missing (and the surround a bit chewed) from around the shutter release. All still works just fine (apart from the frame counter). The camera also has an old style light meter with DIN 21 equating to ASA 40 rather than to ASA 100 as with more modern meters.

I like having to "resort" to Zeiss Ikon, so well built they loose film counters!! More seriously, the Zeiss Cameras are well built, so finding a duff one for the counter parts may well be difficult.

Thanks peligera, for the numbers. Actually, one of my Contarexes suffers from exactly the same problems as your Contina II... The only difference is that a scrap Contarex is harder to find (for a decent price...) Hans
It is a very late one, I think 1955...
