Hi All! The wife got back from Florida last weekend, she'd gone for a week and a half to visit her sister. She brought me back a very nice little Minolta. It takes two 640 batteries, they were still inside but totally dead I put four little LR44s with some foam to hold them in place and it sprang to life. I don't believe there's much of a difference in voltage and everything seems to work ok. It probably hasn't been used in years! We've got over a foot of snow on the way tonight, so after I'm done clearing it out of the driveway in the morning, I'll take a couple of shots of it to post. Doug

The original specs for the px640 cells are 1.4 volts each, I believe.
I read that some people have refitted their cameras so they could use a 3-volt lithium cell.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my Hi-Matics.
I've done it successfully with Yashica Electros and the Zeiss Ikon Contessa S310. But with those, I already had a cylindrical battery chamber. I need to give this a little bit of thought.
That's a very clean example, by the way.

I have considered cutting out the divider in the battery compartment to fit a lithium cell in my Hi-matic F. I have too many other projects to do first.

That looks new! That era had some nice looking cameras. You must send Barb out more often.
