The purpose of this thread is a challenge for you to photograph an entire A-Z on a given theme. My Household objects was a perfect rainy day exercise. Why? When the children were younger I used to set them challenges: How many items can they fit in a matchbox. How many household items can they find beginning with K, make an A-Z list of things in the house and so on. This got me thinking about a photographic project to get the whole A-Z in the our photos thread. So I set myself a challenge to photograph an A-Z of items found in the home. I managed to complete it this morning. Of course there were a few items difficult to find with the letters Q X Y and Z but I managed. OK, one's not a typical household item but was there because I didn't have a ********* and found it difficult to get one. A proper one. A couple of items only a photographer or collector is likely to have. See how many you can identify correctly. There are three duplicate letters, two deliberate and one purely by accident. List what you can see. The words used in this competition are mostly the English versions. Good Luck!! Attachment Deleted

Well, I can see two Ws in there - William and Wordsworth - in the shape of a host of Golden Daffodils. Had there only been 7 it would have been an L and a D - Lonnie Donegan.
Z is quite easy if you are American - you just go with Zucchini.

I put that in because like some of the other objects in there it also has other names - courgette, cucumber, baby squash etc. but here are two Z's, whats the other? I hadn't thought of Wordsworth when I did the daffs. You are seeing more into it than I intended My intention was for everyone to list what they see and/or make up their own A-Z just for fun. thanks

Phil, it's a good idea. I just need a bit more time and, even more importantly, a piece of paper to write the answers on.
On the old "competition" I did do an A-Z of my photos in quick succession, but that's not quite the same as assembling then all in one place.

Phil,
I'm up to the challenge. How many weeks can I have? Must it be an object that would normally be found in a home or something that is not a normal household object but resides therein regardless. Something such as my souvenir of Alberta badlands, a fossil?

If its found in your home why not use it, the couple of photography items in my pic would be difficult for some but not for you I'm sure. I too have a fossil - in fact several and I'd have used one if I thought about it. I have put in there a few things that may have more than one name just to be awkward, the Larrson tome is one of them. The vegetable is another. Perhaps do an A-Z of a different theme, workplace items, grocery items, animals, celebrities as long as they are in the same photo!!!! You have one hour to do it. Kidding. I did all mine as separate photos hoping to catch the end of Z and do an entire alphabet too!

Yes, why not a self portrait. but it would be better with you actually in the photo.
I'll allow you one cheat - I did one.

Phil, "self-portait" was because Mickey referred to "a fossil", and I wasn't sure if that was what he meant!

Mickey, I apologise on behalf of our 'posh scouse' friend!
You can see my self portrait in the background of my photo!
So where's these photos? I'm already working on my next A-Z

A to Z.
I have a problem. All in one picture huh? I managed to get my refrigerator and stove with some pots and a fry pan in one photo with some cropping taken with a 12mm lens. That's it. I tried putting a salt shaker and pepper mill on the stove but s and p are already there. So I removed them. I then put a glass of water on the stove for g and w. As I turned to look for something else I accidentally knocked it on the floor. That eliminated the glass and the water. I took a mop to clean up the mess. Its long handle struck the pot and knocked it against the fry pan. Both tumbled to the floor. So I got a towel which I am throwing in - surrendering.
It was just much too dangerous an assignment.
Mickey (aka Chicken Little)
P.S. I think the sky is falling.

Mickey, either those books are heavy or your lens has a seriously weird type of distortion. Would it be true to say that it was the refrigerator that made you go cold on the idea?
I must confess that I was going to use books for an A-Z, but with each letter as the first word in the title rather than a dictionary or encyclopaedia marked A-Z. I was on the verge of sending for Xerxes by Jonathan Buckley from Abebooks (£2.04, postage paid) to complete the set. I will now shelve that idea, but not the book.
