Some time ago I got this lens, today I gave it a try on my wife's Nikon 3000. A pain to focus, no real focusing help. The lens seems good to me, almost more sharp than expected. These slower Nikons are not very popular, as there are few reports from the net. The lens is beautiful, and a pure joy to focus, all butter smooth. The lens: The summer is coming, also the rhubarbs (handheld, 1/100 @5.6): 100% crop: I might have to buy an adapter for Olympus micro 4/3. Some reports says not all Nikon non-ai lenses mount properly, so, which adapter for this 35mm?

A very nice lens. I have a 50mm and 135 f3.5 matching it. I use both on my NEX and my D3200 and both work well. I can't see there being a problem mounting it on an adapter. If there is s problem its the use of Ai lenses on older cameras due to the barrel of the lens being a couple of millimetres further back than the lens mount. All adapters I have seen have a raised bayonet flange to allow for that. I buy mine from Roxsen or big_is on ebay. Of course mine is NEX not M4/3 but they look identical at the lens end. Oh, BTW thats a dandelion chip attached to the lens. It allows metering and auto exposure on my D3200

Oh, btw. There should be a focus confirmation spot on the d3000. Select centre spot focusing so only the centre sensor works. Focus with that over your subject and when its in focus a green spot flashes at the bottom of the VF indicating its focused.

philbirch: Thanks for tips and tricks - I will get the adapter you recommended. It says Nikon AI lens on the sellers ad, but I think it will be good also for non ai lens.
Beautiful Nikkor-Q lens! All glass and metal, almost a piece of art. Yes, I love those old lenses, many of them creating stunning results on those digital wonders.

It says Nikon Ai on the adapter to differentiate between it and Nikon G which is for AF lenses. If you buy a G adapter you can use all your Nikkors including MF & AF one. There is an aperture ring on the adapter
