Sorry. You guys don't appreciate true beauty when you see it. Here is beauty incarnate. Nothing can approach it. Nothing superfluous. Not an ounce of fat. No awkward projections or dangerous angles. It has the pure lines of a true thoroughbred. And it is faithful as well. It stuck with me through thick and thin for 20 years. It never faltered or failed. It has earned the place of honour in my collection. Aaaahh love. Sigh. Mickey

Don't understand that bidding at all. You can buy one from KEH camera in excellent condition for $105 and in bargain condition for $56. And on Ebay they usually fetch about $50.

Too many to choose from they are all gorgeous, some personal favourites: Olympus OM1N, best looking of of the OM series Yashica FXD, my first proper camera after the Zenit TTL, still got it, still love the look, pity the vinyl cover tends to fall apart Asahi Pentax Spotmatic, clean classic lines Minolta SR1 for the same reasons as the Spotty Controversal but I love the Zenit 3M, there is just something about that vaguely agricultural Soviet shape. When I am about to buy a new camera, a very rare occasion, I do a lot of research prior to making a decision. When I finally do decide I think I have convinced myself that, for my money, it is the best there is both technically and aesthetically. I rarely keep the selected camera for less than ten years so there must be some kind of subconscious love affair happening before I take possession.
Hence my choice for best or most beautiful is highly biased and cannot be trusted.
Since 1954 I have had: Exakta VX 2a 10 years. Minolta SR2 10 years. Canon Ftb QL 11 years. Canon T90 20 years. Pentax K100D 7 years. Pentax K-5 2012 to present.

I have a German Rollei 35B and a German Kodak Pocket instamatic S30. Both to me beautiful, I have had both forty years. The Rollei was used when I bought it and produces consistently great photos even today. The kodak was the best in its day and the last time I used it in 1999 the photos were great as emulsions were better than the early 70's. ok not SLR's but my fave SLR has to be the XE7/1

I also find the Yashica TL Electro X to be a good looking camera with that beautifully ornate Y on the viewfinder and the atomic symbol on the front and shutter speed dial.

lesdmess,
Yes, it is working very well. No electronic tricks and gizmo's to complicate matters.

With cameras as with other things, beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder. Some of the cameras others consider pretty are just plain Jane cameras to me. And I'm sure many feel the same about my favorites.
