At IBM we called the first portables Transportables (or luggables) giving the size and weight constraints on human beings... Surely, everybody went once on a photo trip regretting the equipment he/she had to take with him/her. For me, I made the 'mistake' to carry this into a mountainous area: IMG_1659 by hanszeiss, on Flickr Zeiss Ikon Contarex Super type-1 with the Sonnar 4/250 type-2: a beautiful, valuable, but an oh so cumbersome combination. Some people never learn, 3 weeks ago I tried to get these into the mountains and got that deja vu feeling...: IMG_1665 by hanszeiss, on Flickr Canon F1-New (LA 9398) with the 3/400 attached (and a bigger tripod) Am I the only fool around here? Hans, Actually I feel a bit more foolish as who else would get the smallest format SLR then attach big lenses on them . . . But maybe instead of a lens consideration it is the film size? Of course if am not taking a bag of equipment and I simply wanted to take one camera with one "standard" lens then I would take the Pentax MX + Pancake.
