I am never a typical M8 buyer/user. This was the closest I could get to a traditional Digital camera which was essential for me in some respects. Just paying out £3000 on a new camera was crazy. It came from an inheritance, but that is no excuse. I love it, although it gets little use since I stopped working in London. I found that the crop factor creating a nom 67m lens worked well with my detailed mind. It was just perfect with the tiny CV35 Color Scopar and my Kiev mount Helios. I also love using a vintage Summitar. Another reason is that I can use my Soviet lenses, J8 with a superb Amadeo adapter which becomes part of the camera. The Contax Leica is just magic for me, especially in monochrome with those vintage lenses which remind me of snapshots of old.
I guess it's odd using a Leica as a digital Kiev/Contax, but it works for me and there is a touch of 'up yours' to the mystique of Leica in using USSR lenses!! I must set in to monochrome and keep shooting.
