So why has everyone so far replied to the other thread when this has the complete story? And a good story too.

Obviously everyone got diverted with the selling of pictures. Threads tend go off at a tangent on this forum, I actually like it and dont mind in the least if my posts turn into something else. Apologies belguimreporter. My first Nikon was a bag full from a newspaper that was upgrading. I got an FM2, an FM, a 24mm NIkkor, aVivitar 28-80 (approx), another long lens (nothing special) and Metz Ct4 for £200. That lot kicked off my love affair with Nikon. Never had a toy one though. I did have a bubblegum version of Rush's 'Moving Pictures' album. Sounded terrible but tasted good.

In 1974 i bought my first nikon, and it is still in my possesion, a year later or so i've also bought the 500mm mirror lens (amongst others). Because the 500mm is seldom used i've kept it around "just in case" . Now some years ago i was able to find the miniature version of this exact set. It was sold in a box with some candy as childrens toys in Japan. The fun thing abuout the mini is that the prism and lenses are interchangeble just like the real thing. Most kids start out with the toy and when they grow up buy the real thing, with me it was sorta the other way round . You might be one of the collectors with longest experience on this forum? Great story, and impressive to take care of a camera bought so long ago. Also collecting Nikon system is tough, there are a lot of gear to assemble in such a collection.

And expensive, as Nikon stuff holds its price.
