Another charity shop find amongst the plastic cameras-a gold anodised Contax T2 for £2.
I had assumed it to be dead, but, later, noticed that there is a glimmer of life in the battery which caused the lens to appear and the flash to activate, I also opened and closed the back and rewind activated,so I guess it's working .
I am ASD fixated on Contax/Kiev [ including several hybrids !! ], so a modern Contax is a great contrast, though the gold is not what I would have chosen, neither is the Dulux white of my cheap and cheerful ex-dem Samsung NX1000, but @ £150 with the 24mm equiv lens, who cares?
Having given up on film post retirement on grounds of cost, I am contemplating a new battery and trying out some outdated film kicking around.
Does anyone know anything about these cameras?

Good Buy !!!
Well, its got a Sonnar lens and sells for £200+ on ebay. What more do you need to know? "who made it?" ah, glad you asked. Kyocera in Japan, the Parent company of Yashica, who of course made the CONTAX range of SLR's on the 70's and 80's.
Its about as top of the range as it gets for a 90's auto compact. Well worth getting a battery!
The pale gold colour is the regular version, if its a dark gold its the 60th anniversary version. 60 years of what though I can't remember.
