I came across a different digital camera today, I had heard of it but this was the first time I have seen one in the flesh. It's the Olympus Camedia C-211 Zoom, an Olympus digital camera that also can make a Polaroid print. A big camera for a 2 Megapixel model. This one is in very nice shape, probably hadn't been used much. Of course the Polaroid 500 film is no longer available, but the digital part will probably still work. It is missing the battery carrier that takes 4 AAA batteries, but can be used with an AC adapter. I am out of town for Christmas now, but when I get back home, I am sure I will be able to come up with a usable AC adapter to try it out. Anyway it will look neat in my digital collection.

It was a funny camera, the first in North America. Not the world unfortunately as Fuji claimed that honour. Made in 2000 it's actually older than one of my film cameras!

I did find an AC adapter to try out the camera and the digital part works fine. It had a mostly used pack of Polaroid 500 in it and when prompted to do so, it ejected a print through the rollers like it should, but of course the picture was blank since the film was so old. All in all I am happy with it for display. It had a memory card in it too with 5 pictures of somebody's furniture.

The chemicals will have dried up on the film. An interesting camera. Can you show a photo of it? The film is available. Search this item number on ebay: 131297570538 or look here:

Generous to a fault. A fiver a pic, not too bad. If you are loaded.
(In the UK 'loaded' means to have plenty of money)
