I am watching a Minolta SR-7. I need someone on here that knows a lot about them. This one has Chiyoda Kogaku written on top by the film crank. The serial number is on the back not on top. The number 7 is smaller than other SR-7s. The only cameras I have seen with Chiyoda Kogaku are the SR-2 SR-3 and early SR-1. The first Minolta SR-7s that don't have a turn off switch on the bottom say Minolta Camera Co... on the top. This camera has the switch on the bottom and had Chiyoda Kogaku on the top. With the meter swith it has to be at least a 1963. By that time they were no longer called Chiyoda Kogaku I thought. So is this camera a rarity or a rarity fake? I my self find it interesting.

Only quick thoughts, but Minolta had the habit more than most of having home market models, US, and European models, all marked up with different markings. Chiyoda Kogaku markings indicate a Japaneses home market version. It is the revised version with the switch, so as you say 1963. Stephen.

Thanks Steven for the information. Had some hope it was a rare. Still an interesting version even if its just marketed for Japan.
