Thanks. In reply to lesdmess the Kiev 19 is definitely Nikon mount - not similar. Just to be sure, I said my Ricoh Singlex can mount Nikon lenses but that the Ricoh "Nikon" lenses won't mount on a Nikon brand body. And it looks like the Kiev is the same. This is Truls photo of the Kiev's opening. Notice the opening relative to the screw at about the 10 o'clock position on the Kiev. It looks to be the same as the "Nikon" mount on my Ricoh Singlex. This will allow Nikon lenses to mount on it but the Ricoh "Nikon" lens will not mount on a Nikon body because opening "A" is wider than opening "B" on the Nikon. Truls can verify this if he has a Kiev made "Nikon" lens - if there is such a thing. Or a Ricoh made "Nikon" lens like I have.

Hello: I have the original Helios lens on my Kiev 19. It can be mounted on Nikon cameras, but you should never mount it on a "modern" Nikon with the AI coupling pin on the body. This pin would lock in a a screw hole on the lens and then you cannot get the lens off without force and risk of damaging the pin on the body. Updated: Added pictures to see the problem below Kiev 19 by hromadkah, on Flickr Tokina zoom and Helios lens from back, see the screw marked in red on the Helios, that is where the AI pin from a new Nikon locks in. And here the mount of my Nikon F301, see the AI pin marked in red. Hannes

Good to know Hannes. On my Ricoh Auto Rikenon 55mm f1.4, there are no screw holes on the back - smooth like the Nikkor-S Auto 50mm f1.4. Flange A is a few degrees wider which fits just fine on the Ricoh Singlex but will not fit the opening on the Nikon. While the Nikkor lens will fit either Ricoh or Nikon. It is odd why Ricoh would design it so that their lenses will not mate with Nikon while allowing Nikkors to mate with the Singlex.

I was just clearing out a cupboard and found my Kiev 19. Thought I had sold it. Seems to work. It has a metal shutter similar to the Nikkormat. Also found a Mamiya Secor 1000 DTL I didn't know I had. This means that, as I have suspected, I have too many cameras.
