Does anyone else have a fascination for bellows? Of course you can stack bellows and tubes to get more magnification . . . I suppose it reminds me of the days when I worked in a lab while in the service as I can configure some very complicated setups . . .

A great collection. I have a couple, one Russian one with a double extension and a prinzflex, permanently set up for slide duping. Then this little darling...

I try to get one for any reflex I have, plus a Spering reflex bellows for Leica screw, and a BPM universal type. Still after a Periflex brand one, once lised as made by Ken Corfield, but I have never seen one. Stephen.

Phil, That is an interesting Minolta configuration. Can you provide more info about them?

Phil, That is an interesting Minolta configuration. Can you provide more info about them? The bellows is a Minolta Compact bellows. I took the SR mount off the back and replaced it with a Sony E-fit mount (A reversing ring with the filter threads ground off) the lens is a E-Rokkor, with a M39-M42 ring attached, screwed into an M42-Minolta adapter. The mod to the bellows is reversible. It allows me to use longer focal length lenses on my Sony easily.

That is another accessory that is new to me! Also, it was just recently brought to my attention that there is an M42 to MD adapter.

The adapter on my bellows is an official Minolta one - the 'P-adapter'. Came in a bag of stuff, It works on infinity so I can give my Russian lenses a go every now and then on the Minoltas. I only have one M42 body - a Praktica LTL3

Of course if you need more magnification than bellows system, you can use a microscope instead.

Perhaps I confused you. The bellows is too long to focus to infinity. You can focus to infinity using the P-adapter on the Minolta

OK so the "P-adapter" is the M42 to Minolta MC/MD adapter and not the bellows. I suppose this is the Minolta counterpart to the M42 to Pentax K Mount adapter that I use.

Yep. One of the first accessories I ever bought for an SLR was a bellows. One of the big attractions of the Olympus lines were their macro photo capabilities. Olympus PEN, FTL, OM bellows. Three generations. Do any of the camera makers still make bellows for their systems? .

I doubt you can buy new bellows in any of the 'old' fits. Perhaps only M42, PK and Nikon and then the more modern M4/3, Sony E & A etc. There are so many used bellows available now though and mostly pretty cheap.

Remember this is the classic SLR's board - not dance music
