On a listing for Ebay, a Foca 35mm French Leica copy, for sale as spares, I checked the French Ebay listing via Google translation, to find the focal plane shutter worked, but that first blind was lazy and the second blind evil......... Google strikes again!

You'll need a camera exorcist.

Lets all celebrate being photographers on July 12th - The feast of Veronica. Veronica. Isn't she the beautiful blond actress from the 50's who wore her hair over one eye? Perfect coiffure for a photographer. Mickey

Perfect coiffure for a photographer. Mickey I think that you mean Veronica Lake, the stunning looking actress who played the Salem Witch in Rene Clairs famous comedy "I married a Witch", (1942) and who in real life was a bit of a *itch, her co-star Fredric March said life was too short to act in another film with her! The story was from comedy writer Thorne Smiths book, "The Passionate Witch", and later used as the base of "Bewitched" on TV.Veronica Lake had thousands of photos of her taken whilst working in Hollywood, and having her hair cut shorter in the war was once credited with finishing her career. Far more likely was that few other actors would work with her! and nobody referred to her as a Saint!Stephen.

She is the one, Stephen.
Looking at her picture I noticed that her upper lip looks like the fluke of a whale. She is till beautiful though it may only be skin deep in her case.
Phil, what is the traditional dish at a Veronica feast? Blubber?

Veronica Lake's real name was Constance Frances Marie Ockleman, and after marriage to film director Andre De Toth, became Constance Frances Marie De Toth, then she became English by marriage and lived at Ipswich, becoming Constance Frances Marie Cartlon-Munro!
As it is an openly publised fact, she was known as "The Bitch" in Hollywood, due to her behaviour in front of, and behind, the cameras, and to the Studios bosses. She had also been married to Alan Ladd, and was employed in his films as she was the shortest actress available that helped make him look taller, he was about 5 ft 5, and she was just under 5 foot tall.
If you don't know the film , try "I married a Witch", she is supurb in it, but her off screen behaviour drove Fredric March, her co-star mad. Cecil Kellaway played her permanately drunk Warlock father, and he commented that in real life she was the one who was always drunk!

Stephen. If I had that many names to sort out every morning to know who I am for the day I too would be bitchy. Poor little girl. Only 5 feet tall and laden with such monikers. Mickey
