Go out with it and enjoy it, you'll look like a seasoned pro. At least its real wear - not like this one... more about it

Very nice! Somehow, I've never found a black Spotmatic for myself, though I have plenty of other Pentaxes.

I love the patina of your Spotmatic. I think it should sit proudly on your display shelf when not making pictures. Maurice

A black Spottie with a good set of Takumars - as good as it gets in the SLR world. Better if a bit brassed, too.

It's nice to see i'm not the only one who likes cameras with some patina. When going through my collection i've noticed black on brass cameras aren't that common as i've thought. The era of the brass bodys ended somewhere in the mid 70'ties mainly with the introduction of the canon A series. From there on cameras just got ugly when they aged. here's an example of how things can go wrong when there's "to much patina". my nikon FA wich is a lovely camera and was quite expensive when new but it has just a plastic body with a thin layer of copper to hold the black coat. The wear on the corners where the carrying strap rubbed against the camera is horrible and instead of showing some brass the body now has two holes on the corners. The "el cheapo" nikon FM whitstood the test of time a lot better because of its all metal brass body.

My Canon A1 appears to be made of red plastic. Very unsatisfactory 'brassing'
