Due to a number of factors (small) camera stores are closing down at an alarming rate. The digital revolution, the internet (stores) E-bay and the likes making it allmost inpossible for small buisnesses to survive. It will be a sad day when my favourite camera store will close down wich is due within 2 years as the owner now is 73 years old and nobody is willing to take over the buisness.I had a chat with him today ( you know man to man in real life not over the net ) And he told me if it wasn't for seond hand camera's he would have been out of buisness a lot sooner as there's no profit to be had in selling new cameras. The photoprint service is dying out also and investing in a new daylab would be comercial suicide. Anyway, i want to thank all of those buisnissmen (and women) who are still keeping their shops open and the ones who closed down. It is allways a pleasure finding a nice bargain in these shops and having a chat about cameras and days gone by. Here's Walters "spectrum" shop in Merksem, close to Antwerp.

A couple of great stores in the north of England are Real Camera in Manchester and West Yorkshire Cameras in Leeds, both have web presence and online ordering. But a visit to the shops is essential!

It seems they build all these places too far away from Australia
