I took several photos of the harbour and realised three of the pictures could make a panorama if cropped right, so here it is. Not intended to be a pano but serendipitous circumstances profligated... Colour or Black & white which do you prefer? taken with sony A6000 with a f3.5, 50 mm Lumar from my Periflex.

Great pictures. When I first look at them together I like the b&h, but when I look at them individually I liked the color much better.

A wherry is a Wherry, and it ought to be brown! So Colour it is.
(as a student I raced in wherries - for fun though; after my oars/skull racing years).

It all depends, the B/W could have done with a figure somewhere in the shot, but the colour version stands better as presented, as the colour is the foremost feature.....

In this and in most instances I prefer colour. But colour and black and white are two different media. I really don't think they should be compared to each other. Colour - well, admittedly, I am a colour nut. However to see a truly excellent black and white print with its deep, velvety rich blacks and its subtle grey tones can be just as uplifting. That is something I never have achieved regardless of the hours I may have spent in my darkroom trying. Though, truthfully, I never was very fond of darkroom work. Ilford and Cibachrome cheered me up a bit but my computer is sheer joy and I can spend hours punching its keys and chasing its mouse. Mickey

there were a couple of people in the boat on the top right, but I cropped them out. I dont think they would have added much. I'll look back at the original files.
