This camera came from a junk store where it was sold as ... Box Brownie... which it obviously is not It has absolutely no markings whatever either inside or out but does have rather distinctive viewfinders which may give a clue ... can anyone point me in the right direction as to its true identity???

The closest match on the net for the fittings is German maker Eho-Altissa, they made many varieties of box camera models, but had the same clasps and film winders. Several on the net have a wire finder as well, but I suspect this is a base model. The brass rims would not be original, just worn away black enamel paint. Stephen.

Fabulous.. I think thats it, don't know how you got onto it so quick I've been searching for days thanks perhaps earlier model but gives me a place to check

Search method, look at the fittings, Google box cameras in Image search, and look for match. For such searches The Image search gives the best results, not a text web search. But if image fails, then try the text search. It may throw up images different to the image search. Vary the terms, add Old or vintage, It may refine the results. Stephen.
