I've been looking for a nikkormat FT3 to get my nikkormat collection complete, for some time now. Last week i finally found one for wich te seller accepted my bid. It arrived yesterday by Kiala post (cheaper slower alternative to regular post) I've used kiala many times both to send and recieve parcels. On a few occasions i noticed the parcels aren't handeled with the care they are supposed to get, but upon till now it was nothing more then a damaged cardboard box. however when i got this parcel it was really heavy dented. it gave me the uneasy feeling the content of this parcel might be damaged to. Indeed despite the double bubble wrapping and other damping materials the camera had a serious dent on the corner and for some reason (brute force applied to the parcel?) the filterthread of the lens was torn off. Now these postal services take no responsability for such mishaps, but do suggest you should get an additional parcel insurance. I once took this insurance, but when i made a claim they pointed me out the insurance was only in case of loss of the parcel! Either way i think it is a bit odd you are forced in to taking "insurance" for things these parcel services do wrong, after all it is not my fault the parcel gets damaged isn't it? I know of people who ask "protection" money so nothing nasty will happen to your buisness, but i thought those practices were illegal.

Dear Reporter,
This is indeed a horror story. I hope you come out "whole" at the end.
With best regards and wishes,
George

What a shame.. looks like a nice camera before the post got at it I wish you the best of luck and also hope you come out "whole" I think all parcel services need an overhaul, had a problem with Aussie Post during one of our floods, I opened the wet smelly parcel hoping I could save the contents and was then refused the insurance because I did not keep the smelly flood soaked packaging (I did though have pictures of it at stages of unwrap (not good enough)
