After the disappointing results with c-mount TV lenses on the pentax Q, i sold the Q kept and kept the TV lenses.
Ever since then they were gathering dust on the lenses shelf. Strolling around the net i couldn't help to notice some people seem to like "bad" photography, lomo, holga...the moment a shot is made with a plastic lens, light leaking no control what so ever piece of s***t toy camera it all becoms "art".
In defence of the technique they claim a lomo camera is a good way of learning photography as you have to think about composition, think the shot over in advance, the experience would be the unpredictible results due to all the "fun" faults such a toy camera has.
What worries or troubles me is that people are willing to fork out a (relative) lot of money for a piece of plastic to ruin their film in.
Back to the TV lenses, i bought a canon 6x17 f1:2, pentax 25mm 1:1.4 and a cosmicar 50mm 1:1.4 probably for less than most people paid for their hyped lomo camera.
When mounted with a c-mount adapter on a mirrorless micro four thirds camera, these lennses will give you all the arty-farty lomo effects you want and more because of their very large appertures. On top of that the results are controlable and predictable. If you want to make "art" in my opinion it helps a lot if you know what you are doing and not depend on random coincidence.
I realise i am on thin ice discussing "art" and i could be very wrong but in my opinion lomo is just a big hype and the question is how long it'll keep on going.
Here's a few "lomo" pics i took with the TV lenses, sadly no light leaks in the olympus to make it more arty.
