OK , it was just £180 NEW .
I had seen one before at silly money , still over £600 at John Lewis but it is so like a proper [film] camera .
I can't afford the £300 35 f2 lens , [ gotta buy a car ] so a Leica M adapter for the Color Scopar 35 f 2.5 areMD is pending - apparently , it's bit of a pain with legacy lenses but it's so gorgeous - reminiscent of my fave Panasonic L1 .
Have you ever bought a camera without having a lens for it ? Crazy !!

Dee, Years ago I purchased very cheaply an 1895 8" x 10" Gundlach Korona view camera. It was in sad shape. It had no lens nor any lens board. I ultimately bought two excellent lenses and made my own lens boards. I restored the camera. I enjoyed the entire process. The only thing digital about it was a little blood from my middle digit that was produced when my screwdriver slipped. The moral. Look for an 1895 wreck of a camera and take it from there. Mickey (No help at all but lots of sympathy.)

Buying a camera without the lens is nine out of ten a bad idea. With the abundance of bodies from wich the lens is scavenged for "legacy" use it is easy to find a what looks like a cheap body. Leica R series come to mind, R3's can be had for under 100€ but if you want the summicron afterworth, expect to pay another 300€ a price for wich the R3 with summicron can be found (same even goes even more so for M bodies). My advice, buy the camera with lens for a good price, or buy a body for wich you've got a lens, otherwise what looks like a bargain can become more expensive than first thought. To further answer your question, yes i once bought a mamiya 220 without the lens, in the end i sold it again... with no lens. Meanwhile i am looking for more than 30years for a bargain lens for my Alpa ...

You are right of course , but I wanted the kit when they first came out at £1500 , i have checked the receipt - it was £158 + adapter £10 = £168 , not too expensive . I can just hope that the system , like my Minolta Alpha / Olympus 4/3rds become discontinued .
Like the Panasonic L1 , I just love the style and the quality for the money .
Maybe it's the collector thing , but I can't wait to try it out with the M39 CV 35 f2.5. dee

OK . 27mm f2.8 lens arrived - I love the handling and the OVF with bright line frame .
It takes me back to my 1st 35m camera with zone focusing and bright line finder - but with AF !
It's complex , but frankly , it's set up as a point and shoot on programme until I can get into the handbook . a decent point and shoot with nom 41mm lens at £308 is fine for me .
However , I am content with learning Manual as I have with the others .
